camnewbie asked: I am considering buying a new camera (sealed) from Craigslist. It has all the warranty cards and everything. Will I still be covered by the 1 year manufacturer’s warranty? When sending that in to get covered, will I need to include a receipt or proof of purchase?
It is a local deal so I would be seeing the product in person. And I do believe the item is not foreign so it would have a US warranty card.
If you need proof of purchase, how do people register gifts?

Marzzy asked: I just booked a vacation rental posted on Craigslist. However, the guy needs me to send $100 deposit for the rental to his PO Box. I’m very skeptical to do this. Are there any kind of protection laws that Craigslist offers in cases like this?

They tell me how their shippers will come and pick it up and how they will pay with cashiers check. I don’t trust them. How can I make sure they don’t rip me off and just take my dress without paying?
